And how you (or your business) should capitalize on this opportunity
Recently I wrote about how much Twitch creator Amouranth makes (because it’s honestly shocking), and it blew up!
People are really shocked that there are actually people making this much money online.
But today, there are an infinite amount of ways people are making TONS of money online. It seems like almost every year there is a new, bigger platform for creators to capitalize on and monetize their content.
In this article, I want to share some of the very recent ways people are making money passively online, that you might not even know about!
You may hate Tiktok, but it’s significantly increased passive income platforms
With the huge success of Tiktok, many other competing social media platforms such as Instagram and Facebook are actually paying creators to make short-form video content to incentivize people to continue to use these apps.
Short-form videos are now monetizable
In 2021, Tiktok introduced the Creator Fund, which is still “early stages.” In other words, get in now while it’s still new.
You need to have at least 100,000 views on your videos in the last 30 days to be eligible to join the program.
Instagram also has a similar program called the Instagram Reels Play Bonus Program. Learn more about it here.
But don’t let these big numbers get you down. Social media is exploding these days and with a bit of dedication, you can get these numbers too.
I’ve tried this out so I know it’s possible for you. I started a Tiktok account for my dogs and in less than 10 videos posted, I already got over 200,000 views on a video of my dog sleeping in her bed. As well as tons of likes, comments and 600+ followers from that one video.
Facebook is now paying users to make content on their site
Meta is investing big in Facebook Reels to compete with TikTok’s short-form video feature, and they’re now paying users to post reels on the site.
There are now numerous ways to make money on Facebook, and you probably have never even heard of them.
However, you do need to have somewhat of a following to be eligible. But as I said, it’s possible and not as hard as you think it is.
Content creators with at least 10,000 followers, 5 videos, and 600,000 minutes of viewership in the past 60 days are eligible to monetize their content through ads.
These numbers sound crazy, but you’ll be surprised, reels are popping off on Facebook and being promoted by the company as they try to compete with Tiktok.
Reels bonus program
Facebook is paying up to $35,000 per month for creators who get at least 1,000 views over a 30-day period on their reels.
Facebook is also paying writers
Start posting your stories to Facebook too! Facebook’s ‘Instant Articles’ allows you to monetize your articles by placing ads within your articles.
In conclusion: get paid for advertising your business
With programs such as the Tiktok Creator Fund, the Facebook Reels Bonus Program, or the Instagram Reels Play Bonus, you can get paid for the content you create for your business’s social media.
Social media isn’t just for promoting your products, or your business, but a way to passively earn an income.
Take the opportunity while it’s still new.
Just a few years ago, none of these opportunities existed. We never had all these platforms to make a passive income from.
And we never had these Medium articles, and videos on YouTube, providing a FREE education for people to learn how to monetize their content.
I was watching an older video by top Medium writer Ayodeji Awosika. And in the video he says that with any side hustle, career, or business you start, you need to give it at least one to two years before you start reaping the benefits of your hard work.
For the first year, you’re not going to move the needle at all. You might make some money, but you might make no money. — Ayodeji Awosika.
And I can 100% relate to this. In my first year writing on Medium, I was making less than $10 per month. But I stuck with it because I knew that if I kept on trying I would eventually start seeing a return, and oh boy did I!
